PROGRESSIVE, HISTORIC, CIVIC PRIDE, COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT, AWARD WINNING SCHOOLS, QUALITY OF LIFE! THIS IS FORT MILL AND SURROUDING COMMUNITIES OF INDIAN LAND AND TEGA CAY. The best of living in a part of the world you are proud to call home! This area of the middle Piedmont region of South Carolina is a shining star on a map of the region. A growing diversity of newcomers blended with the genteel southern families that have lived here for years has produced a special community of people with different backgrounds working together for the good of all. From the historic downtown to the new shopping and dining venues, the new library, the new YMCA, the Anne Springs Close Greenway and soon to be built museum, there is more to Fort Mill than could ever have been imagined in previous years and it is continuing to evolve into the pride of the Piedmont. The town of Fort Mill is located just south of the state line shared with North Carolina. Our closest neighbors are Rock Hill, SC, to the south and Charlotte, NC, to the north. Approximately 9400 people live inside the town's corporate limits with a total of nearly 35,000 people residing within the entire township.
